So you copied the entire FF profile directory and copied to new SSD. I place profile folder in my data folders so it is part of backups.

Then after installing the product for the first time use the Windows “Run” command to start eachFirefox with the –p option. Example “Firefox -P”. This opens the profile manager. Use create tocreate a new profile. Give it a name like Trapper and then point the data directory to where youcopied the entire profile directory

Reviewing your original post and then how you had managed to find the updated BIOS version:

[..] downloaded the new BIOS 3602 saved to USB drive.

... Which ASUS provides on their website, as a direct download, right:

    Code:
    https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8P67_PRO/HelpDesk_BIOS/

Here's one of their (FAQ) guides, on updating the BIOS; "How to use Easy Flash to update the Notebook BIOS version?"

    Code:

That's odd - are you using the correct board version?

So, if yours is the different motherboard:

    Code:
    http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8P67_PRO/#download

And here's how you can ID your motherboard with ASUS, in case it's needed:

    Code:

Tried a reply using Firefox [..]

Since you're (re)installing Firefox, it may be a better idea to start with a fresh profile and all you have to do is: 1) Reinstall your Add-ons, 2) Copy-over Bookmarks and Passwords. If your PC had been borked due to a virus or whatever, Firefox could've gotten messed up as well... It's quite simple, to copy a few files, here's Mozilla's page: "Recovering important data from an old profile".

& btw., here's their offline installer direct download page and there's a nice (!) user.js file to configure its about:config settings available on GitHub (the default of which requires a LOT of editing, as it is primarily built for Tor /privacy and security) & if you like, here's the current EDIT which I'm using on my PCs:

    Code:
    https://pastebin.com/YnHqvWQN
^^ As a quick-start (it's not perfect, or it may not suit you), or a reference point for anyone who may need it... I'm using Notepad++ and its Compare plug-in in order to sync up new versions.

... And while this may be totally off-topic, it's also possible to inject the user.js to a non-rooted Android device, using Firefox DevTools, which is pretty awesome! :)

Drywall dust is the worse. Gets into everything.

Not sure on Firefox. There were a number of issues last weekend and John made a few changes. One common theme to get things working on the client side was to clear browsing history.

I just tried FF and spell check is working fine. (Normally I use Chrome)

    Where is the spell checker?
Menu Bar >Tools >Options >General Tab >Scroll down to Language >Tick 'Check your spelling as you type'.

How do I use the Firefox spell checker? From the link:
    Note:
    • Automatic spell-checking is only turned on for text boxes containing more than one line, where you can enter as much text as you want.
    • Not all locales come with a dictionary installed due to licensing reasons.
But you can add more if you like; See Table of contents below note.

The more you complete the word spellchecker the less you'll see.

Good luck on the rebuild... Click image for larger version.

Thanks for the advice, moved out to friends house as no power in ours. Electricians found faults after installing a new consumer unit that is far more sensative than our old 'fuse box' and until they have fixed the problems they have discontected the mains!

I have enabled check spelling as you type and have set language as English (UK). When I right click on this post ( mpore than 2 lines) I see pop-up as; cut, copy, paste, delete (greyed out) -line- then; select all and inspect element (Q). No check spelling box is shown.

Thanks for the good luck with the rebuild, at this rate M.S. will be on Windows 11 !!!!!

    Hi Ken.
Thought I had but will check......
In the mean time I get the attached error when I copy the contents of my FireFox Profile folder:

I have no idea of what the file is as the more details button is greyed out, really helpful.

I have added the English US dictionary to my options, for this post the red lins du seeem to have worked, FF may not have understood the Inglish UK diktionary version?.

I'll have to investigate why you're not seeing the check spelling choice like shown on my clip. You do have the
Menu Bar >Tools >Options >General Tab >Scroll down to Language >Tick 'Check your spelling as you type' checked off, right?
