you can add a profile to a dsf file.
You can then view and edit tags via the Properties, Details sheet as shown.
Here I downloaded a (genuine) dsf file and added a couple of tags.
That would appear to do the job... although reading the info on those linked pages is too intimidating for me to give it a try. I am afraid that if I implemented this metadata system it might pose conflicts with the file editor and music player I am using, or overwrite all the tags I spent hours writing.Hi, you mean something like this?

At this stage I will just live with Windows built in limitations. Thanks for your advice, everyone.
It is quite safe to use and totally reversible. It does nothing until you configure options for an individual extension.
Your choice of course.
