Running Windows 8.1 files on Windows 10

    f1jockey.zip

The file I have posted is a Windows 8.1 help file.

I no longer have access to Windows 8.1.

It won't work with Windows 10.

Windows 10 is using a different program to run it's .hlp extension than the one Windows 8.1 is using. (I hope I explained that right.)

I believe it will work on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, Vista or XP.
It doesn't have to be Windows 8.1.

Maybe somebody who has access to any of these files could upload what I need.

I have tried the tutorials to no avail.

Could someone show me how to do this with this specific file.

Why not just install w8.1 in a virtual machine or as a dual boot option?

I can confirm that using one of the fixes published on the net for old hlp files that that file is readable on Win 10. You don't need to have Win 8.1 to accomplish that.

    echo on
    FOR /F %%I IN ("%0") DO SET BATDIR=%%~dpI
    takeown /f "%windir%\winhlp32.exe"
    icacls "%windir%\winhlp32.exe" /grant *S-1-5-32-544:F

    copy /y "%BATDIR%\winhlp32.exe" %windir%
    icacls "%windir%\winhlp32.exe" /setowner "NT Service\TrustedInstaller"
    echo Done.
    exit

I tried this fix. It didn't work.
The one in dalchina's post is what I want to see.
What fix was used to get that?
