    Resetting BIOS password

I have Acer Nitro 5 laptop . (This model https://www.amazon.in/Acer-AN515-52-...gateway&sr=8-6)

Recently I updated its bios by downloading the official driver from the ACER website. Eversince my BIOS has got locked and asks for password which I don't know and haven't even set in the first place!!

How can I find out the BIOS password or remove it?

Only Acer support can help you. They might tell you what to do or they might say that only they can perform the procedure [for which they might charge].

As an anti-theft measure, resetting a BIOS password on a laptop isn't supposed to be easy.

Acer Support may suggest taking it to an authorized service center.

    Good luck.

But I never set any BIOS password in the first place. Acer BIOS update locked my BIOS unfairly. There must be a way. Some third party tool?

Sorry, we do not discuss these types of things on here, due to liability reasons. BIOS firmware updates from the OEM website do not embed a password in your BIOS. Contact Acer Bali

I have never had a BIOS update set a passord, ever. And in all my years in computing this the first instance of anyone ever reporting it happening.
And as already mentioned, forum rules prohibit use from helping you.

No discussions of hacking someones system, network, password, etc.

I can tell you that the BIOS password in a laptop is stored in EEPROM. You need to know the password to remove it or change it. You can't just clear it with a jumper like you do on a desktop PC. Removing the CMOS battery won't erase it either. You need to contact Acer. They are likely going to make you prove ownership before they help you.
