Modification of file names in bulk

A time ago, so I do not recall why, many of my files' names were modified; say from .abc.jpg, or cde.docx to abc(2018_06_04 06_52_58 UTC).jpg, or cde (2018_06_04 06_52_58 UTC).docx. In the main picture files dominate.
I want to rename the files by removing the (2018_06_04 06_52_58 UTC) from all the files. It would be terribly laborious, unless it can be done in bulk. Please does anyone know of anything that can do what I need?

    Quick search for
'best bulk rename utility' will point you to some options.

Thanks for guidance. have you actually used the program in the link? I just cannot see, despite on line help, how to load the items I want changing.

Here I've taken a random selection from the list in the first link for you.
These programs are for you to try to see what best suits you personally and your objective.

A preview of what will happen is important- you can see this in the 1st & 3rd screenshots.

Here I'm removing '123' from the file names. (Not sure they've ended up in logical sequence in the post- sorry)

i have tried Ant and it did the job for that particular string, but there are similar others, which I need to sort out, and , after a few days absence, I intend to see how the multi-string editing works.
Unfortunately, or maybe not, I doubt it will work system files with the same problem.

If all the characters you want to remove are at the end (or beginning), this will do the job quickly - JoeJoe's freeware utilities - [Rename Master]
Of course, this does many other things too, like substitute or remove certain characters, etc. This screenshot (from older version w/diff interface) shows how I would deal with your 2 particular files (you would have to make 2nd pass to remove space at end of 'cde' name -

In my cases the names are all different before the offending string.

the latest version of JoeJoe's freeware utilities - [Rename Master] has an option to Remove/Replace Expression ( item 05 ). If you specify REMOVE the expression ANYWHERE IN the filename
that starts with ANY OF THE CHARACTERS (
middle is A PHRASE ENDING WITH )

You'd still need to double check the results before applying the re-name.

As far as System Files with the problem is concerned, that is another matter, as it may well break something.

This better illustrates how to remove only the parantheses items which contain the word 'UTC'.

ReNamer by den4b is a terrific tool for this job although I confess that I didn't read all the fine details in the answers above. I periodically have to do quite complex renaming operations to several hundred files at a time and I've never found anything this great little program couldn't handle. Along with Faststone Image Viewer, it's first in line when I have to re-install applications on a new system and both developers a deserving of support.
