ADK matched to the specific update version of Win 10?

I need to create a recovery CD (actually USB ...) for my backup utility. The recovery volume has to include the Windows ADK. The system that needs a recovery process is still on 1709. Do I need to use the ADK for 1709, or can I use the 1903 ADK?

the backup utility is most likely looking for WinPE and/or the deployment tools...
Using the Newest Version of ADK should not matter, but I would recommend using it..

Thanks. The full ADK is like over 7 GB, it would be nice to juist download the WinPE and deployment tools.

What IS your backup utility? Most likely, it has it's own Windows PE recovery ISO you can create from the program.

I use Retrospect Professional, v15.61. There is a process to create recovery media, and part of that process is to have a copy of the ADK. It will even download the ADK automatically, if you wish.

I think at one point the company was paying royalties to MS because they had complete recovery images for download. Now you build the recovery image, including any specific drivers for your system.

spunk, the reason that he needs to download the ADK is because Microsoft has stopped allowing third partys from distributing WinPE with their products. That's also a reason that some of them switched over to WinRE based media rather than WinPE.

Some of the products I use came with WinPE in the past, but they had to drop it and make you download the ADK.
