20 Unexpected Shutdowns previous 30 day - most all when unattended

I have an ongoing problem that began around April 24, 2019 -- my windows 10 desktop PC is shutting down unexpectedly. This occurs almost totally when the PC is unattended. According to my log, it has occurred approximately 20 times since the date mentioned. It seems to occur randomly in time but on 24 May it occurred 5 times and since that day, the shutdowns have been almost daily.

When the shutdown occurs while I am actively using the PC, the only warning is the blue screen -- your PC has run into a problem. I am assuming that is the Windows 10 BSOD.

Obviously I have looked at the event log but I am totally lost and I know nearly nothing regarding interpretation to arrive at my problem, and thus find a solution. I have attached the V2 collector's zip file but I think that my security software programs MAY BE blocking successful completion of the V2 Collector - Bitdefender Total Security; SecureAPlus; and others.

I will be "out of my office" today until approximately 6 or 7 pm (US, Eastern Time) Please, what should I do next? Thank you!

Hi, please complete your specs- see mine for comparison. At present it's not clear if yours is a laptop, desktop, or something else.

As a reference point try leaving your PC on in Safe Mode for 'long enough'. If it still shuts down, suspect hardware.

Naturally you could disable your security software and re-run the log collector for comparison.

Is your RAM compatible? Are you over-clocking? Have you made any recent hardware changes?

What happened just before this started? - History- upgrade? Is there any correlation with your Update History around the date you mention? Program installation?

    Updated System Specs

Please note my updated system specs.
Is your RAM compatible? - Yes, installed at least 2-years ago with no previous shutdown problems.
Are you over-clocking? - Definitely not.
Have you made any recent hardware changes? - No changes for at least 1-year.

What happened just before this started? - History- upgrade? - Windows 10 Pro, Version 1809 (build 17763.437) 4/22/19 -- just 2-days prior to onset of "shutdown problem".
Is there any correlation with your Update History around the date you mention? - Yes.
Readily available dates of all prior software was reset by Windows 10 on 5/22 so I cannot readily see what software changes were made.
Windows updates are completely up-to-date except for two very old Adobe (EOL) programs which have been in use for at least 2-years.

Another BSOD last evening. I have also noticed that my "quick launch" folder always changes when my PC restarts following the BSOD. The shortcut to Windows File Explorer is always moved from my custom placement order to the bottom item in that folder.

Hi, replies depend on people reading and having an idea... sometimes threads are started and get none.
Also, contributions are voluntary. Help is free, unpaid.

    Two ideas:
As a reference point try leaving your PC on in Safe Mode for 'long enough'. If it still shuts down, suspect hardware.
    - as previously.

Secondly, if you're getting BSODs, and this is consistent with shutdowns, then please post as a BSOD thread using the tool in that section to gather data.

Sounds like you have a failing/weak power supply. Otherwise I would suspect a bad motherboard. If you have a mutimeter you can check the voltages of the PSU. There are plenty of sites that will show you how to test a PSU.

Thanks boombastik and dalchina and ram1220. Thank you very much. I understand the free part and the voluntary part. I thought that I had selected the "BSOD Crashes and Debugging" sub-forum with my initial post. Also, I thought that I had posted the V2 collector's zip file but I guess that is yet another error on my part. No excuses other than age has evidently caught up with my thought processes and astute observation. I did update all out-dated drivers, I explored deeply into my dmp files with the help of tutorials, and I uninstalled what appeared to be a troublesome software. I always felt that the tenforums.com was the premier place to go for help with Windows 10, but as you say, help is free, unpaid, and voluntary. Hopefully I have cured the BSOD shutdown problem. Again, thank you very much! If I have not cured my problem, I'll dig into the PSU with my PSU tester and then maybe the motherboard.

I will sit tight and see if my efforts have succeeded. If they have not, I'll be back for help. Thanks to everyone!
