Windows went crazy after fresh install

This morning I did fresh install of windows 10 home. It looked perfectly normal after the install. I did NOT want to mess with it right then so I shut it down.

Later I rebooted my PC and low behold something was crazy. Since I can not take a screenshot here is what I see by using a drawing. This same thing happened before and is the reason I reinstalled Windows. I had Windows installed before (some things did work as they should) is why I reinstalled Windows.

Once it was booted up later, there was NO Recycle bin or any other icon on the main part of monitor.
I can shut down or restart using the Windows icon. If I click the Edge icon in the taskbar it appears that it opens but does NOT show on the main part of monitor. This true of clicking on any of icons in the taskbar. The clock seems to be set correctly.

I have NO freaking clue what could be causing this. I am hoping someone here can help me. This is a desktop PC and I am hoping someone can help me solve this problem. I have opened the case and checked the wiring to my Primary hard drive and I don't see anything wrong.

I saw a similar post in here. IT was close to my problem but NOT the same.

If you have questions free to ask. I will try to answer them.

Some details on your system would help Computer make and model, memory video card, monitor, etc.
    Version of Win 10 (home/pro).
Can You get to the Device Manager? Check for any devices not working right, especially your video card.
Does this affect you in safe mode?
Can you perform a clean boot?

It almost sounds like your monitor is being recognized as the secondary display in a dual monitor setup.

First let me say a big "Thank You" for your responses. The closest response was about the second monitor. Very close.

When we first installed Win 10 at my PC Guru's home, this problem did NOT exist until I got home and set it up on my system. What was the difference I asked myself. It turned out to be an HDMI cable from my PC to my big screen tv. I disconnected the cable and everything came back as it should be.

There are two places to connect the HDMI cable to the PC. One is called HDMI and the other is called "Display port". Now all I have to do is figure out which one to make the connection to.

A lesson learned "think things thru".

Ya'll have a great day. I know I am going to

DisplayPort is similar to HDMI, but the cables are not compatible. Windows went crazy after fresh install-hdmi.jpgWindows went crazy after fresh install-displayport.jpg

    The symmetric connector is HDMI.
