Just thought I would drop by and share what my brand spanking new install did last night. I was on Edge browsing through some of the posts here before shutting down for the night when Edge suddenly just closed. I looked in event viewer and there was an error for edge that said it had a damaged header.. So I fired up SFC. SFC found errors and fixed them all. Since I didn't trust that all was fixed (LOL) cause it is windows after all, I rebooted and ran it again. It did not find any integrity violations so I guess I am fixed for now. I ran Dism /restorehealth for good measure and ran SFC again this morning. Guess I am good to go now for awhile until the next update or upgrade.

that is exactly how it should be

I have no "8193" errors in my event viewer application log and I have checked at least two of my PCs running Win10 v1903 a few days ago (one running Win10 home, the other running Win10 pro)

Hi everyone. Just something to ponder. I have Macrium Reflect Home. Many here recommends it and uses it. I use it twice a month, just prior to Patch Tuesday and a couple of weeks after. VSS errors shows up twice a month in events viewer, exactly at the same time MR finishes and shuts down VSS. Now I'm sure some of you use incremental updates which would cause many more VSS errors. This appears to be a problem between MS and any imaging app that uses VSS. Maybe MS hasn't figured a fix yet, after all they are predicating their own back up imaging. Personally, I can't see my system suffering from these errors, so I'm going to disregard them and hope that MS figures it out.

Hi Richard, I dont use Macrium or any imaging type of program. I doubt using an image program causes the VSS errors. I think this errors are tied with 1903, I never had them before updating to 1903, why they affect some system but not all? I dont know. But I also doubt that having some particular program or programs installed in the computer causes the errors. I almost install nothing and don't change programs, the programs I have now are the same programs I installed when I got this computer 2 years ago. My computer is pretty bare. IMO, this VSS errors are pure 1903 errors.

Hi bo, I know a lot of apps write to Shadow Copy in windows. I know the problem seems to be with 1903. But something has to be said that the exact same time the vss error pops up in event viewer is immediately after macrium closes vss when it's finished. I'll keep a close look to see if it pops up at other times, as I said other apps use vss also.

Richard, is possible that in your particular case, using Macrium causes the errors. If thats the case, then your VSS errors are nor similar to ours described in this thread. I remember reading about VSS errors and Macrium when I first started getting this errors and used Google for search so that wouldn't be too uncommon.

The VSS errors we are getting as described in this thread have one thing in common, we (sometimes) get them at shutdown. You shutdown or reboot the computer, you might get the error. I usually see them during a couple of days and dont see them again for a couple of days. Is a sometimes they appear kind of thing, and sometimes they don't. I also see them when System restore attempts to create "automatically" a SR point. Manually, the points can be created and without errors.
