Let's wait for some of the other "victims" to come back, and cross check. I think you unearthed it, though.
That was pretty funny - other "victims".

I wonder how one would add the "Local Service" to "This Account" like your screen capture?

In any case, my solution worked on my system and I'm going to run another backup and reboot again to make sure it stuck.

    EDIT:

Just reconfirmed my solution in post #145 is working. Ran another backup and rebooted to have no VSS errors. Also shutdown all the way and cold booted to have no VSS errors.

They won't because I assigned the "Local System Account" the authority it was lacking.

Computers are only as smart as what you tell them to believe by assigning parameters.

Hey, after you do upgrade again, let us know how those settings are before you change them to what I outlined.

Give us screenshots of the Service "COM+ Event System" before you change it. I'm curious to see what yours is set to after the upgrade.

Heck, for that matter, let us see your Services setting right now before the upgrade for COM+Event System.

Of course they are the same as my screenshots, you haven't upgraded yet - hence you don't have the VSS errors in your current version.

The problem will be that they will probably change during the upgrade - hence the errors surfacing. You'll have to change them after the upgrade, but I would like to know what they are set to after the upgrade before you have to change them.

Remember, the error only seems to rear its ugly head after backup software is ran and then a reboot or shutdown.

If you were getting them from just shutting down or rebooting without using a backup software first, I would be confused as to why you were getting them at all; unless Windows Backup/System Restore was causing them too.

System Restore must be causing them too because I don't have any backup software on my PC and Im getting those VSS errors
