Using the boot-cds of Macrium and Acronis .
Have Acronis installed , coz using the Try&Decide modus of Acronis .( the only function Im using of Acronis )
I rolled back to 1809 , so can not test if Acronis is the "bad guy" , I suggest ; disable the Acronis-services and reboot , check if these VSS-errors are back ( 8193 and 13 )...........
btw; if I have a solution for these errors will upgrade again to 1903............
I use neither of those software and have the VSS errors too so IMO that not going to mater.
Edit: I just checked and now have none in last 2 days, but did have this one.
VSS ID# 13
Volume Shadow Copy Service information: The COM Server with CLSID {4e14fba2-2e22-11d1-9964-00c04fbbb345} and name CEventSystem cannot be started. [0x8007045b, A system shutdown is in progress.
]
I did do the fix for the ESENT ID# 455 so maybe that has affected this.
" have the VSS errors "..............then what the ***ck is the cause of these errors ???
So its not Acronis enabling these errors !!
I dont know how to disable these VSS-errors in the event-logs , just cant find them............
I don't really know about these errors but could they have anything to do with the system restore at all? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
" anything to do with the system restore "...………….these are VSS-errors , related to system restore .
I dont use it , coz Im making my own backups with the boot-CD of Macrium .
So sytem restore is switched off on my rig , the VSS-services are on manual ( off) , removed the backups also .
Still ( !!) getting these VSS-errors after reboot , they are made during reboot/ PC switched off...…….
I've noticed on my system that when I disconnect my 1 TB external USB drive, or turn off System Restore for that drive when it's connected, the VSS 13 and 8193 errors disappear.
I also have vss errors in event log. I used macrium earlier with no problem. I ran 'vssadmin list writers' in cmd prompt with administrative rights, every one came back stable with no errors. So I guess I'll disreguard also.
" So I guess I'll disreguard "..............you can ignore these VSS-errors , but ignoring is no solution for these stubborn errors !
There must be a solution to avoid these errors , or a way to stop them showing in the eventlog..............
