    Notepad command line to open file and find text ?


    Hello & Thanks ,
    I would like to call Notepad from another program
    sending to it a command line
    to open Filename and FIND a specific text .
    Plz , How can this be done ?

    I don't believe Notepad has that capability. Notepad is a very simple editor with few options. Command line options for a program must be explicitly designed in.

    In a Elevated Command Prompt type

    File Name> 0 & notepad 0

    (ie) cdedit /enum > 0 & notepad 0

    That cannot be done in a standard Command Prompt, it would need to be Elevated Command Prompt (As Admin).
    As written, Notepad would open at the Found line.

    I checked out Ted too ,
    but I need launch program with 'command line' FIND capabilities .
    I am updating my app here:
    clipLog/clipFind - The Portable Freeware Collection
    And want to make it into a FULL Pim .
