Fences works, I believe - I think it's mentioned in that long thread or similar.

Wow for the first time I have encountered a problem which is kind of un-solvable and the only solution is third party software.

The icons are okay if their size is small. But If I choose medium or large their layout goes haywire.

Try this. Use these desktop settings. Then, while holding the CTRL key, roll the middle mouse button backward/forward to see if they line back up.

I am also using Medium Icons. In addition to recommendations by f14tomcat shown above, I also have Auto Arrange Icons chosen.

Thank you but it did not help. If i start reducing icon size then it only arranges properly if reduced to small size.

About the only thing left is disable the Align to Grid, so they won't pop in place. Get the size where you want it (mouse wheel), and manually drag them to the spot you want, fine tune placement.

A ?...... what is your screen resolution? 1920x1080, or other? Thanks.

This issue is a long standing bug due to poor MS software engineering which they must know about but are in no rush to fix. I use Desktop OK on all my accounts to recover the icon locations.

My resolution is 1920x1080. If align to grid is off and I change icon size to medium or higher then icons overlap on each other (one icon on top of another). Have been using Windows 10 for years. This is first time I have come across such an issue.

Rearrange them manually. Drag one of the overlapping ones somewhere else.
