What settings are turned on by default but not needed

Over the years I've noticed that windows has a lot of settings that are on by default but are mainly for beginners. Which settings can be turned off to free up resources?

    1.Disable low disk space checks
    2. Disable windows animations
    3. Windows search

Are there anymore settings that aren't needed? And if so what are they?

I wouldn't choose to disable Windows search- this really doesn't use resources bar a little RAM for the service. Storage for the index is small by default- you can limit it further via choices in Indexing Options, but be careful, you could end up making search in Settings slow, for example.

    Are there any more settings?
Consider internet usage- apps using background data, sharing data for updates over the network...

    Windows – HalfLight

This site says deleting these 2 files and registry keys will disable the checking of low memory which are radardt.dll and radarrs.dll has anyone else tried this or know anything about it?

Would you like to have tons of fun?

Check out this site: Black Viper's Windows 10 Service Configurations | Black Viper | www.blackviper.com

Scroll down to the table, and look at the different configurations for different styles of computing. Disabling Services could handicap the computer though. You should take caution if you want to mess around with all this.

Microsoft will always annoying add useless stuff to enable with your computer, which it doesn't really need. I have 8 GB of memory, and opening multiple Google Chromes will eventually start crashing, because there isn't enough memory, with a minimal amount of background programs running.

The first thing you need to do is backup your current install. The best way to do this is to use Macrium Reflect Free to make an image backup to an external hard drive. If you don't have an external hard drive now is a good time to get one as regular backup should be a part of your normal process. You can get a 1TB external hard drive for $60 (less if on sale).

The3n go play to your hearts content.

    Windows – HalfLight
Eight years old ("more than 4 Gb in a notebook is still unusual.")

    Therefore not Windows 10.
