    "Item not Found" error

Hi guys, I have upgraded from Build 18362.86 to .113 using KB4497936 successfully. But when I right click on desktop to create a new folder of text document I get the "Item not Found" error. Kindly advise how to resolve this issue, thanks...

    Hello mate,

Since this is happening when you click on New > Folder or Text Document, you might see if downloading and merging the .reg files for the Directory, Folder, and txt items in Option Two of the tutorial below may be able to fix this. They will restore the default associations and registry entries for these items.

Hello Brink, I tried merging directory, folder & txt .reg files but after a restart the problem still remains. This however does not happen in safe mode. I wonder what went wrong...

Does this happen at any other location, or just on the desktop?

Hi Brink, this seems to happen only on the desktop.

Did you do anything like move your desktop folder to another location, set it to sync with OneDrive, or turned on Controlled Folder Access?

Hi Brink, after reading your post, I went to windows security center > controlled folder access & turn it to "Off". I restart my pc, now when I right click on my desktop to create a new folder of text document, no more error appears. I went back to controlled folder access & turn it back "On". Now it's working fine, thanks Brink...
