That's good to know, thanks. I did say I might have gone a bit overboard on the steps required.

Oh, and still working fine, several reboots later
I've now deleted the Container folder of my desktop PC without any problems. I noted some very odd issues about how the folder sizes are calculated. The figures below are for the entire Containers folder tree:

    Tree Size reported 6088.6 MB
    Explorer reported 2166.1MB

Disk space used before deletion of Containers folder 56173 MB
Disk space used after deletion of Containers folder 55020 MB
Disk space saved on deleting Containers folder 1153 MB

Each method gives a totally different estimate for the size of the Containers folder!

Explorer is notorious for giving misleading sizes. For a start, it can't count the contents of any folder your user account doesn't have permission to view. There were quite a few such folders in Contents, as I recall. TreeSize when run as administrator has no such restrictions and can see everything. For example, File Explorer reports the size of 'C:\System Volume Information' as zero bytes, while TreeSize lets you explore its contents (this is where restore point are stored, amongst other things).

My value for the space freed up by deleting Contents was taken from the before and after Macrium images. The difference in the used space for the two C: drives was 4.7GB.

How mysterious! Tree Size quoted 6.09 GB but I've only freed up 1.1 GB despite entirely deleting the folder Container.

Hi all, I also have this folder but it's slightly different and much smaller. I'm sure I got it on 15th when the latest CU updated the system to .503.
Meanwhile at 'Turn Windows features on or off' there isn't Hyper-V and Windows Defender Application Guard check-boxes at all.
Whatever is it, this thing doesn't bother me and will just leave it alone.
    Best regards to all.
