    shortcuts working slowly

I have a new computer. My first experience with dual drive. I installed part of my adobe suite to D: drive and the most used app to C: drive. It works well even though
Dell said it would not. The problem is my desk top short cuts take several tries at a double click to get them to respond. Not all, but most. Anyone have an idea hoe to fix this?

Which shortcuts are slow the one's on C or D or both?
Is D an Usb drive , second internal or a separate partition ?
If its a second internal or usb the delay may be the wait for the drive to rev up.

    short cuts slow

It doesn't seem to make a difference where the app is installed. Some requite 2 or more double clicks to get them to work' To answer your question, C: drive an ssd 256gb labeled OS. the other drive is a 1 TB labeled
Data. Dell clearly expected all apps to be loaded on C: drive but it's much too small for me to do that. The computer doesn't seem to mind where I put a program. the only issue is the repeated double clicks to start an app. I hope this helps. More info? just ask. GB

    Check your mouse/trackpad settings.
While Win 10 does allow programs on another drive, the program itself might not.
