How do I enable the notification settings in windows 10? please help?

Today, I notice I wasn't getting notification regarding my set reminders on my computer and when I went into settings I notice that notification setting were gray out. Can you someone tell how to enable them again it would really be helpful. I also notice in my settings it say that some setting are hidden or managed by your organization? what does that mean?

some setting are hidden or managed by your organization?
    Welcome to tenforums.

This question has been answered frequently here.

    a. Not an error message
    b. Reflects a registry change equivalent to a group policy setting which you may have made manually or via a 3rd party program.
    c. Normally group policy is conceived of as managed by IT admin, but individual users of Pro can use the group policy editor of course.

    If you search this list
    Windows 10 Tutorial Index
you will find a tutorial to reset group policy settings to default.

This includes a section on notifications which may help, which I found in searching for your error message.

    Welcome to TenForums

Shawn (Brink) should be able to help you, not sure why yours is grayed out.

Please fill in your specs, as much as possible.

Do you remember installing any third party app within the past few days that may have settings similar to those? Maybe some app disabled those so you can adjust them within the app.
If not, then I'm not sure. I just tried searching online for the past 10 minutes or so with similar problems, yet only found many people with the "show apps" settings grayed out, which has nothing to do with the Notifications settings, as a whole.

Hmmm I'm not too sure about this, maybe someone else can help go more into detail:

It's possible that your school computer account is no longer the main Administrator account. So for example, the IT people would only have some sort of main Administrator account on the computer. Hopefully that's not the case, because that would be pretty inconvenient. Someone can pitch in on this and provide more detail.

One suggestion that just came to mind: See if you can find the IT person at the school, and ask them to log into the admin account and tell them you want to see if those settings are grayed out on this account. If their account shows everything working correct, then that's possibly why yours are grayed out. Ask them to make your account an Administrator account since you rely on those settings. That's if any of this applies. It's just a suggestion.

If this is a laptop owned by and administered by the school system, you will need to speak to the IT department responsible. When it says "some settings managed by your organization", it means just that. Same would apply if this were a work computer managed by the companies IT department. It's their responsibility, and yours, to adhere to and follow those set guidelines. That would be your next step.
