Sometime in the last 2-3 weeks I started seeing this System Volume Information folder on my Desktop. I run Windows 10 Pro X64 1809 17763.437 just updated to .475, no change.
The System Volume Information folder is a hidden system folder that the System Restore tool uses to store its information and restore points. There is a System Volume Information folder on every partition on your computer.
This one is not Hidden, here are it's properties:

System Restore is enabled for C: and D:.

Question is why am I seeing this folder now when I've never seen it before and how do I get rid of it. Every time I delete it, it comes back.

Here are all occurrences of the folder according to Everything Search. The two boxed in blue are backups.

Why is there one in D:\temp and E:\Sources along with the one on the Desktop?

    Shows as a directory:

    05/05/2019 06:45 PM <DIR> Desktop

rather than a Junction like My DOcuments shows:

    10/02/2018 09:45 PM <JUNCTION> My Documents [C:\Users\ztruk\Documents]

I turned one Don't show Hidden files, folders and drives and the folder was not shown, which I expected. Set it back to the way it was, Show Hidden files, folders and drives, and the foler is still not showing. I rebooted a few times and it's still not showing. No idea why but ti healed itself.

There is no System Volume Information folder any more. It's gone now. I must have deleted it and this time (so far) it has not come back.
