It's allocated space, but empty. Dead space. I re-read your first post. IMO, during one of the downloads you did, probably that bit torrent episode, that file was pre-allocated and never used or something didn't finish correctly. Is this the only issue you are having? Aside from this rogue file, is there anything else weird? If not, we are going to delete it.
yes i deleted the pic. i dont know if people can use it to get into my computer.
anyway i checked the system protection just to see if that even was turned on on this partition.
it wasnt but when i clicked on the volume i could see the configure button so i thought i might just see if anything was there and have a look at this

as you can see the system protection is not on but i still have a bunch of restore points here.
and why? its not even the partition that i have windows on

That pic could not have been used against you.

I'm thinking more and more that was created during some download process of unknown origin. BitTorrent activity is unpredictable. Click the "delete" button on that screen and get rid of it. It will ask for confirmation.

That puts a twist to this. I'm assuming you created the system image backups using the old Windows 7 legacy Windows Backup and Restore. If that's the case, then yes, the old ones could possibly be in there. But you said this just happened, so I don't know why it is just now appearing. In any case, it would not delete the most current system image backup.

You keep leaving the thread, it's hard to tell if you are still here.

Are your system image backups also stored on this same drive?

That message you received is the standard message always displayed when deleting all restore points. It would be there even if you didn't have any system image backups.

im not leaving the thread..im right here :)
yes i used the old win7 option. well the problem was that i had 182 free space and suddenly i only had like 157 and i didnt download anything to this partition, only to my other drive. and i didnt create any new windowsimagebackup or anyhting like that. so i dont know why i i suddenly had less free space on the partition.
and the wiztree and the other prog did show this big file of 156gb so..

So, it's just a 25GB discrepancy your looking for. Does something close to that appear in the TreeSize display? Something caused it to jump by 25GB.

And please answer the question: Do you do your system image backups on this same drive?

Are you also using File History? Where it captures changes to your files and logs them for recovery? If, so, is it also on this drive?
