Screen Blank after one minute but I set it to 20

This happens on Lenovo Thinkpad W550s with Win10 Pro. I do not have Lenovo crapware on it, because I did a clean, generic install about 1.5 year ago. I have never had this problem on a Windows desktop with Win10Pro or a Dell laptop with Win10 Pro.
Behavior
After one minute of inactivity the screen goes blank. Shake the mouse and I get the lockscreen. Have to enter code to unlock.
Settings
I have set screensaver to None and screen timeout to 20 minutes when plugged in, 10 minutes on battery. So why does it blank after one minute?
Solutions?
I have tried many solutions. Sometimes it works as set for a few weeks, then reverts to one minute. Sometimes the screen goes blank after 20 minutes, but it never goes to lock screen!
No matter what I do it always reverts in a few weeks to this one-minute blank and lock behavior.
Currently I have set a reg key: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\InactivityTimeoutSecs. Oh, I've set it to 7200 (2 hours). BTW, I didn't set it by using regedit, I set it by using secpol.msc.

It's so exasperating. I see that many people have this problem. Where is Microsoft in all this?

I've checked on my new install of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and it does not show that registry key InactivityTimeoutSecs so if your on same as me 64-bit I'm assuming its safe to delete that key?

If your going to give it a try, please do a backup of your registry first.

Which power plan are you using? You might want to change it to maybe high performance.or whatever your not using now. Set "while plugged in" to never (both of them). If no other plan is in your control panel/power options, then you'll need to choose create a new plan and chose one of them.

You might want to run sfc and dism on your system,
there are several good tutorials right here as to go about it.

I had the same problem. In screen saver settings window uncheck the box next to "on resume, display logon screen". Solved it for me

Yep, already had that unchecked. This problem is intermittent. Some days it happens, some days not! Rebooting might help, but only for a few days.
It can be so difficult to find the precise setting dialog that you're looking for, so I just typed "screen saver" saver in the search bar. Lo and behold I get a dialog which seemed unfamiliar to me. The settings made sense, but I don't know how the greyed out number 51 got there. Nevertheless, this dialog is no help.

for me, I added a work account to the PC and it came with embedded security settings that affected the entire PC. After removing the account, I was still being locked out after 1 min. Tons of forums later, I found that someone changed UAC settings and that was all they needed.. tried it and it worked.

start/windows button > settings > accounts > require sign-in > never

IF THAT IS GRAYED OUT.. — start/windows button > type "uac" (change user account control settings) > lower it by one notch. *only had to lower mine by one.

go back to — start/windows button > settings > accounts > require sign-in > never
