Some Icons not showing on taskbar

    I am running Windows 10 Home - Version 1903 - Build 18362.

Since the last 2 Windows update some icons are not showing when pinning to the task bar or when programs are open.

So far the programs not showing an icon but just a white line at the bottom of the taskbar are Edge, Microsoft Calendar and the calculator.
Some Icons not showing on taskbar-icons-missing.png Red arrows are pointing to 2 of those programs that are open. I've looked in settings but can't see anything on how to fix this.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello Loopy,

You might see if rebuilding the icon cache may help.

If that doesn't help and this only happens to pinned items, then you might try to reset and clear all pinned apps on the taskbar using the method in the tutorial below. You will have to manually pin all your apps back afterwards though.

    Still No Icons

    Hi Brink

Thank you so much for your help. I am sorry to report that neither option worked. When the icons cleared and I tried to pin them again they still don't show. I know they are there as there is a shaded square when I run the cursor over where they are pinned but no icon.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Loopy

If it's only happening with those apps, then you might see if resetting those apps may help.

I would recommend to only test on the Calculator app first to see.

You may lose your data for the Mail and Calendar app if not signed in with your Microsoft account to keep synced.

A repair install may be an option to avoid a clean install.

    Hey Loopy,

I know this is an old thread but I am having the exact same issue you were having with some icons not showing properly when pinned so I was just wondering if you could give specifics to what you mean by "resetting windows 10".

    Thanks!
