Snip & Sketch has not installed

I have a number of PC's but on just one, the new Snip & Sketch has not installed. All the PC's have the shop disabled, so I can't install it manually, unless someone knows how. But what I don't understand is why it hasn't installed? If I can discover that, then maybe I can make repairs to allow it to install.

Hi, what is the Windows build of the PCs of interest?
Sadly that's not a forum requirement, so we have to ask time and again.

    Windows key + r, winver.

Snip & sketch appeared in build 1809. Priot to that- and still - you have the Snipping tool.

How do you know it's not present? Should be listed in the Start Menu, and found by e.g.
    Win key + S, type
    snip
    in the search box

All the PC's have the shop disabled,
    (Store?)
Are these perhaps Win 10 Pro or Enterprise, administered by an IT department? If so, policies could have been applied.

Hi and thanks for the reply. Two of them are Windows Home, two of them are Windows Pro. It installed as an update on three of them, but one of the Windows Pro it did not. They are all 1809.

The are not administered by an IT department.

When I hit Snip & Sketch I get a window that says the snipping tool is moving. However, when I "Try Snip & Sketch" all I get is a box that states "you'll need a new app to open this ms-screensketch".

When I type it in the search box it says it's there, but clicking on it does nothing at all. No error, no nothing!

I have compared this PC with another one running W10Pro and they seem identical. However, the ScreenSketch app is completely missing on the one PC. It just seems that it hasn't installed. I have checked the install programs list using CCleaner and it just isn't there. Nothing. Nill!

The system seems to have been updated for it ( it does seem to know about it ) but the actual app is missing.

    Try
Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter in Windows 10 | Tutorials

It installed as an update on three of them, but one of the Windows Pro it did not.
Not sure I understand. Build 1809 installed as an update?

Or do you mean the app was present, and was updated?

Snip and Sketch came with 1809, so if you had build 1809, it should have been present.

This tutorial may also be of help:
Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10 | Tutorials
    (search for the relevant app).

You may find more by searching for your error message:
you'll need a new app to open this ms-screen sketch

Build 1809 installed all by itself but snip and sketch only appeared on three of them. On one it was and still is missing.

The error message seems to be a generic error message given when windows can't find the app.

I will have a go to see if i can use that link to re-install it.

I don't know. Nothing I have tried has worked.
The store is deliberately disabled by the way.
It may not be possible to install without enabling the store, which I am unwilling to do.
