    PC shutdown while cipher


    Hello, I was performing a cipher on my C drive just to clean up old junk. I left my PC running for several hours and kind of forgot about it. When I remembered, I noticed my PC had shut down. So I restarted it and noticed it hadn't finished ciphering because my C drive was almost full. So I reran the cipher until completion but it did not free up the space that the first cipher filled up. How can I get this space back?

    Try to delete the EFSTMPWP folder:

No question, just raising a subject to see whether I am right or wrong... cipher /W:X versus format X: /fs:NTFS /p:2 cipher takes quite a long time, even for a small disk. (as a test: cipher took about 40 minutes for a 5GB HDD-partition)
