Windows Media Player will not burn song titles

Something happened along the way - I'm using Windows 10 with all the latest updates etc. When I burn an audio CD using the MP3 files I've ripped to the default Windows Media Player Library I get a good CD (it plays) but the song titles are missing - all that is on the CD is Track1....etc.

The Windows Media Player window shows all the track names and other stuff so the files are being updated correctly when ripped.

What am I missing? I sure I used to get good track titles on CD's burned with Window Media Player sometime in the past. Is the missing track titles a "new" feature or do I need to change some setting that I can't seem to identify? I've Googled the problem and it seems like it is a common problem but can't find a solution that works!

    Help appreciated.

From what I can tell WMP does not support burning CD-Text. It was only possible ages ago with a Nero plug-in.

You'll have to use 3rd-party burning software that supports CD-Text (e.g. CDBurnerXP).

Thanks for the response. I suspected that the "feature" had gone the way of progress! I guess that indicates how long it's been since I burned a CD for my wife's old player. I'll give CDBurnerXP a try. Thanks again.
