    Problem running an .exe file

I tried to run an .exe from a dir on win10 by clicking on it and got a message that defender had stopped it running.

i clicked for more details and i got it to run.

but i did nothing to see that this won't happen again. could it? is there something we should do when installing new apps to make sure this doesn't happen?

Do you mean the yellow and black dialog box that pops up with the publisher info? That is the uac kicking in which is designed to protect you. Normally you want that each time you install a new program. But it can be disabled or reduced at owner's risk.

    Hello @abrogard,

It looks like you would need to unblock the file first. This is normal when you try to open or run a file the first time when it comes from an external source.
