You obtained your Lumia already? Which one did you get? And from where if you don't mind me asking.

Strike this for I found a way to close it out with WinKey/. (period) and while continuing to hold the WinKey, press the arrow down key. Vanished! :)HippsieGypsie, post: 17170, member: 99 said:
I got the 521 from Microsoft for $79. Was easy to set up and works well. I will use it mainly for navigation and entertainment. I am still trying to find a suitable VoIP service. I am spoiled from Android where VoIP is free - even calling the US from Europe.HippsieGypsie, post: 17502, member: 99 said:
But forget Microsoft if you have a question. They don't support the products they sell. They told me that they do like Walmart.
Nice price for what you're getting.
What's wrong with Skype? I believe it's free Skype to Skype.
Not sure what you mean about WalMart. I very much dislike that corp. Probably one of the most evil money-sucking companies on the planet. They've literally destroyed more small town USA economies than anything.
Were you able to get SIMM cards for both residents or going with one carrier?
Skype is OK but I need to call normal landlines - if any.
The Walmart story really p'd me off. They sell you a product and then they don't even want to talk to you.
I have a T-Mobile SIM card, but I do not plan to use it. I really need no phone when I am out and about. And in all the hotels we stop, they have WiFi.
I posted a more detailed review here: http://www.eightforums.com/tablet-to...s-8-phone.html
Thanks. Ok, I'll post over there. This thread is about W9.
Oh, forgot about Colour Management.
Built-in Windows applications such as Internet Explorer and Paint should also be fully colour managed. Windows Photo Viewer (in non-slideshow mode) is colour managed and makes use of Monitor ICC/ICM profiles, so why not Internet Explorer and Paint as well? I can see quite a noticeable difference between IE and colour managed software even on a sRGB monitor, so I dread to think what the difference is like for people using wide gamut monitors. I can only assume it'd be enough to make them use Firefox instead. Microsoft seemed to start along the right lines in IE9 by semi introducing colour management, but then left the colour management in it half finished IMO.
Performance presumably.
Do you really care about colour management in Paint program? Surely almost anything else would be better. Write.exe still exists - what about that? I'd use Word.exe in preference.
I'd like to get a very much improved Windows Defender so that it's not just considered as a minimum level of security rather a pretty decent one on par with other pay-n-buy AVs out there & I don't mind paying for it if they demand but it has to perform very well in real-time detection rates, protection & low resource hogging.
When MS brings out a security solution along with the new OS, it really helps to keep our trust in that one more than anything else I suppose..
Have just come across this and still can't make out what it will look like.:arg: http://www.techradar.com/au/news/sof...umours-1029245 I still think the 7 style was perfectly usable and personally think it is just a another money making exercise.
Leaves me wondering how much I have spent on Windows over the yearso_O
