Unable to update Windows/ Reset or refresh PC

    Error 0x800706ba

    2019-04 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for x64-based Systems (KB4493441) - Error 0x800706ba

Hello, I've run into a problem where I'm unable to update windows or reset/refresh my PC.

Every time I try to reset/refresh my PC, it fails and undo changes when the PC restarts.

Here are the things that I have already tried to do to remedy the problem but failed

    1) Run Windows Troubleshooter

    2) Run SFC scan (fails at 20ish % during verification)

    3) Run DISM tool (Remote Procedure call failed)

    4) Reset Windows Update Component (access is denied when renaming software distribution & Catroot2 folder)

    5) Trying to reset/refresh PC

    6) Restarting DHCP client in task explorer

Have you tried FreeBooter’s recommendation in post #4?
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade | Tutorials

    According to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...cle-fact-sheet
    --- Windows 10, version 1709 reached end-of-service yesterday April 9, 2019.
    --- That’s an FYI as it’s only 1 day out-of-service but I would get an up-to-date Windows 10 version.

Looking at all of the issues you mention, you might have a temporary profile.
Check Fix You’ve been signed in with a temporary profile in Windows 10.
Fix You've been signed in with a temporary profile in Windows 10 | Tutorials to see if that’s a possibility.

Even if that isn’t the issue, save your data immediately.
Note which applications you need in case a clean install becomes a necessary or at least a reasonable solution.
Do you have a system image backup?
--- If you do, consider using it.
