    Quick Access / Favorites -Need it to open in drill down from left side


    IN windows 7 there is a setting someplace that will make it so when I click on a favorites shortcut It will open with the all the little arrows turned down and showing its location. Below it shows how we need it to look when we click on the util favorites. Quick Access / Favorites -Need it to open in drill down from left side-drilldownd-2.jpg

    IN win 7 i did something to a setting so it would show as it does above when I clicked on a favorites link. I can not remember that setting. And I can not figure out how to make my windows 10 open the quick access links in the manner shown in my picture. It just stays in the quick access part and that does not let me drill down and navigate. I do not remember what they call it when you turn the triangle down and it shows folders in the left and lets you drill down.

    Do you mean something like auto-expand ?

    Yes Auto Expand setting hidden in plain site !


    Thank you for that. I did not have the right word to search for.
    If someone searches for
    "Windows not showing me location on left"
    quick access does not expose location
    How to avoid manually drilling down on left
    I suppose introductory video on win 10 would be wise for me to watch. But I need this information so thank you.

When i open file explorer to view any drive or "my computer " etc , the folders , quick access panel , all are aligned to the right , and "minimize , maximize control" is shifted to top left , instead of top right , by default it is other way...
