    charging laptop from power bank

    Hello,
I found a lot on the go with my laptop (Toshiba Satellite)
And find myself without battery - and without a home socket to charge.

Is there a way to charge a laptop through POWER BANK?
I understand that there is a need to convert DC voltage to AC.
Is there a device that does the job safely
And can be a power source for the computer charger?

    Thank you in advance

Hi chaim48 and welcome to Tenforums!

While it is doable, depends what is your idea of Power bank? Laptop requires a lot more power than a phone or tablet.
Easiest way to get limited power for laptop is to get UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). Time for powering laptop is dependant of UPS battery and your laptop use.

Power banks for phones (up to few 10.000 mAh of energy) are made for 5V and can give up to 3 A of current, which is typically 15W of power. Not enough to run decent laptop.

Inverters are usually made for cars and can convert 12V voltage to 110 (in USA), or 230 in EU and the (most of) rest of the world.

Now, it really depends on what king of power bank were you talking about

The size of my power bank is about 6500 compared to the size of the computer battery which is 4500 which means that in terms of battery size at least - is it feasible?

    What else do I need? . .
    What else should I check?
And how I convert the voltage and connect the power bank to the charger of the laptop.

How do I connect this product to my computer?
Does it have a standard AC outlet?

A power bank made specifically for laptop computers will plug into the same port on the laptop that the AC adapter does. The power bank you have listed will not work as it only provides a USB outlet/outputs. It does not supply the voltage nor the proper connector to plug into your laptop's power supply port.

    Nope. That won't work.
Laptops need 19 VDC. USB is 5 VDC. It won't work.

A power bank is meant to charge your phone using USB at 5 VDC.
    It won't charge your laptop.

What about Tablet 2-in-1 PCs? Do the same limitations apply? Mt Tablet PC and Android Table are charged with 5 Volts and 2 Amps.

If they have normal USB charging connector (typical Android tablets), they can be charged with the same power banks as phones.
