Clock is off by 1 hour???

    Hi

My wife noticed today when I was logging in that my clock on my log in page was shout 2:15PM when in fact it was 1:15PM. I merely thought that when I returned form Japan recently that I must have accidentally selected the wrong time zone but when I checked the time zone it was showing the proper time zone for Seattle which is Pacific -8.

Out of curiosity I changed it to Alaska time knowing they are 1 hour behind us to see if it would set the time right and it set the time right for Alaska that being 12:15PM

The only way I found that I could get the correct time for the Pacific was to turn off Daylight Savings time setting.

Now I have the time set to auto update and I also tried to set it by location but both times it showed 2:15PM rather then 1:15PM.

Any ideas why it is doing this for what seems to be only the pacific time zone??

    Thanks
    Dave

Open the website time.is and post an image into the thread.

If there is a significant time difference then create a bootable Ubuntu flash drive:
Create a bootable USB stick on Windows | Ubuntu tutorials

Boot to the Ubuntu flash drive > open Mozilla Firefox > open time.is > post an image into thread

Hi Dave, We've just had a similar issue here in the UK on Sunday when the clocks went forward by an hour for Daylight Saving changes which are normally dealt with by Windows automatically but on this occasion failed to work. Toggling automatic time off and back on again corrected the issue

Similar here except one out of three PC's had updated, the other two hadn't, same fix.

W32tm in command works for diagnosing time issues. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...s-and-settings

Hesitant of making changes now that I see several others in the thread reported similar issues.

I tried toggling on and off the daylight savings button like Sportsfan suggested but that did not work for me but I found that by turning off set clock automatically I could then change the time and then when I turned the automatic setting back on it retained the setting.

It seems to only effecting some time zones as I went to Mountain Time (I'm in Pacific Seattle) and Mountain time jumped ahead 2 hours (before I made the above mentioned changes) so mountain time was correct. I also went to Alaska and it was also correct Alaska time so for me at least was only effecting Pacific time only but then some it seems from above posts in the US had similar issues.

If you are still having quirky time issues, try changing where the time is synced from. Don't let the fox watch the hen house, get a second opinion. Change the time server to time.nist.gov. (US). May be a different optional server in different global regions.
