Will not wake up from sleep

I have 1809-17763.379 and if I choose sleep by right clicking the start button the computer will not wake up with the mouse or keyboard. It will wake up from screensaver with the mouse. If I push the power button it will wake up. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Type of computer would be helpful and if its a laptop or desktop.
1 go to bios settings and disable any sleep options.
2.go to control panel/ power and select a different plan then the one you are on.
3.choose change plan settings and select whatever you think you need for turn off display and sleep.
    4. go to advance settings turn off hard disk and select a high number ( you can change it back later.
    5. go down to sleep and expand it and enable wake timers.
reboot and see if it helps. You can go back and change them one at a time to find the culprit.

What do the Device manager, [mouse & keyboard], Power management entries say about using them to wake the computer?

I would urge you not to take the irrelevant actions proposed by the first reply.

By the way, it does not "wake up from screensaver". It is not asleep when the screensaver is running.

The mouse and keyboard are marked as allowed to wake.

Your system specs say that you are using a wired keyboard so I would expect that this would successfully wake the computer from sleep if its Device manager entry has that option set [mine does not have the option at all].

    - I assume that your computer supports S1, S2 or S3 standby states in response to this command
    Code:
    powercfg -a
    - I assume that your keyboard is listed in the response to this one {its name will be the same as that given within the Device manager, Keyboard section}
    Code:
    powercfg -devicequery wake_from_any
    - It might also be worth checking your BIOS for any keyboard-wakeup settings that might override your Windows settings. Some, but not all, computers have a specific setting to enable the keyboard to wake it up from sleep and I have seen reports that this does override Windows settings so it must be enabled.

I have never investigated wireless devices waking computers from sleep so I cannot comment on your mouse. In my case my Bluetooth mouse does not wake my computer despite the appropriate Device manager setting having been made & that makes sense to me.

    - Perhaps there is some guidance in one of these other threads
wake computer from sleep with keyboard windows 10 site:www.tenforums.com

    - The general guidance is in Allow or Prevent Devices to Wake Computer - TenForumsTutorial

Other than that I do not think I will be able to help you. Sorry.

    Best of luck,
    Denis

Thanks for your help @Try3. I have checked all suggestions and everything is set like it is supposed to be. It use to work with the same mouse and keyboard I am using. Maybe after the next major upgrade it will fix it.

Have you tested with a different keyboard and mouse ? Even if you have to borrow them, that would eliminate some possibilities, no ? Using huge brands like Logitech and Dell, it's virtually certain to me that it's not and OS issue. I use a wireless Logitech mouse AND keyboard and they both wake out of sleep fine, as well as the laptop keyboard and touchpad.

I have similar problem on Dell Inspiron 7373. Feel like I have tried everything. The keyboard backlight works but the screen never comes on. I just updated bios and chipset, Video is latest per Dell.

trying to do 1903 update now

Not sure if it is any key to press

I setup a task in Task Scheduler to wake computer from sleep and it isn't working even though the batch file runs.
"Power options Sleep>Allow wake timers" is enabled.
"Task Scheduler>Conditions>Wake the computer to run this task" is checked.

    What am I missing?
