I setup a task in Task Scheduler to wake computer from sleep and it isn't working even though the batch file runs.
"Power options Sleep>Allow wake timers" is enabled.
"Task Scheduler>Conditions>Wake the computer to run this task" is checked.

    What am I missing?
    What's in the batch file?

So the problem might be in the Task definition. Did the task run when intended or only when you had manually woken the computer later on?

You have enabled Task history in Task scheduler? That is probably going to help in investigating the problem.

I used to have a very old computer that accepted the Windows 10 upgrade but would never wake up from Task scheduler.
    - How old is it?
    - Has this one ever woken using Task scheduler?

I'll check in again in the morning,

The task ran on schedule, but remained asleep, I had to wake it.

Just enabled task history and will check it in the morning.

The PC is less than a year old.

    - - - Updated - - -

    History:
Event ID: 107; Task triggered on scheduler
Event ID: 129; Created Task Process
    Event ID: 100; Task Started
    Event ID: 200; Action started

Task ran but PC did not wake.

1 Task scheduler would normally also record: Action completed & Task completed.

2 Might I suggest that you add to your batch file an initial line
    Code:
    echo %date% %time%
    to assist this investigation.

3 Computers do not do things while they are asleep except some processes & services. All activity is suspended.

4 Or are we talking about S0 'sleep'? Run this command to see what sleep states your computer can handle.
    powercfg -a
    - The state we normally mean by "sleep" is S3
    - S0 is a new thing that ought never to be called sleep. It's a glorified & awkward idle condition.

5 What does Event viewer show about sleep transitions? I've enclosed definitions of the three Custom views I use on the subject.
    EventViewer.zip
You can just extract the zip file then import them while you are in Event viewer.

powercfg -a returned S3 and does not support S0-S2.

Thanks for the custom views. Event Viewer did not return anything other that what I gave previously.

According to everything I see, it should work.

    Good. I hate S0.

So it did not record a wakeup at that time?
Therefore the batch file did not run at that time.

Not if Task scheduler is not showing Action completed & Task completed entries.
Not if Event viewer Task scheduler entries are not showing the whole set of six events that it shows for a task including Action completed & Task completed entries.

Please would you confirm what Task scheduler, Task history records.

The batch file ran, it was still sitting on my desktop.

I can't expand history out, that is why I entered it as I did, all the information is there.

Event ID: 107; Task triggered on scheduler
Event ID: 129; Created Task Process
    Event ID: 100; Task Started

Does that echo line I suggested confirm that it ran when you thought then?
