    My desktop has two active partitions, there's no confusion in the boot process. My Thinkpad laptop, also with two active partitions, Windows 10 does not boot up sometimes. Shutting off and restarting resolves the issues. On the other hand, selecting Linux to boot with F12 always boots up without an issue.

    On the surface, this seems to be an issue related to Windows and not the BIOS. Removing the Linux drive always results in booting up Windows without issues.

    your polly right. Maybe I'll download the newest version of ubuntu and load it up, I never had trouble dualbooting linux.
    I tried Suse Leap on another machine and it turned out to be dumbed downed . hardware info was worse than
    window 95. all the super hires screensavers gone. Unless your terminal savvy tweaking the system is a
