Permanently lock taskbar to right screen with multiple user accounts?

On my home PC I run 2 screens, and also 2 user accounts, one for my wife and I and one for my son. When it's logged into my account, I always keep the task bar locked to the right screen, because I run CAD and 3D design software on my left screen (left screen set to primary) and prefer to have the maximum resolution height on that screen. Plus it's what I'm used to at the office.

Problem is that whenever my son switches to his profile, and then I switch back to mine, the task bar ends up on the left screen again. I have tried setting it to the right screen on BOTH profiles, locking, but still at every single login of either profile, the task bar ends up on the left screen.

Is there anything I can do here? Having to unlock the TB, move it and then re-lock it every single time I log in is super annoying!

It does not work. After adding the registry key to disable the ability to lock the taskbar, I switched to my son's profile, then switched back to my profile. Now the task bar is on the left screen, but now I can't unlock it and move it back to the right screen.

    This is infuriating!

Is the registry edit work for your profile if it is then delete the ‘LockTaskbar’ from your profile and then login to your son profile to apply the registry edit to his profile.

I added keys for both local user and local machine. lock Taskbar was disabled for all users. Yet it still moved the taskbar to the other screen when switching profiles. As I said, it doesn’t work.

Just do a Switch profiles and see if that keeps things the same. Otherwise use a separate machine for home “Public” use.

Switch Profiles does the same thing. Moved taskbar back to left screen. Separate machine is not an option. So I guess it’s impossible to keep it on the right screen then? Somewhat hard to believe.

I would set it and keep it the same for all profiles. Roaming profiles with Windows 10, does cause some headaches with home systems. You can also try creating mandatory profiles for each user. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...y-user-profile

Doesn’t matter. I can set it on the right side on both profiles and it still switches back to the left side whenever a profile is switched or logged off/on.

See the links about creating profiles for each user.
