Ok, so I’m custom installing my computer right now. (No reset from installation media!)

Thanks everyone for the help! Will get back to you if something happens

Turns out it’s stuck at “Getting ready” with the spinning dots. How long does this phase usually take? Shouldn’t take this long, really, but it’s stuck here for about a hour now.

Do I force shut down the PC?

I've not seen anything on time delay times. @Kari has performed many custom installs and may have more information.

    Options to backup files are:
    Kyhi boot rescue:

The drive can be tested, images can be made, and users folders can be copied and pasted to an external drive or to the cloud.

Ubuntu can be used to backup files and test the drive.

So do I turn off the PC, or let it wait?

    Unknown.
You can allow it to run overnight.
If there is no sign of progress in the AM then move to another option.

Glad to see that patience is working.

Had you allowed or deferred Windows updates?

    It’s checking right now.

Also everything seems to be janky because I’m using the Microsoft Default Display driver for now

EDIT: Never mind, Intel driver’s installed and lag has disappeared!

All I need now is hope that Windows Updates can install now.

EDIT: They went through. After two years being stuck on 15063.0, I’m finally on 15063.1418!

    Here’s to future updates.
