Manage This PC Not Opening as Administrator

There is an option to right click This PC and select Manage which should open Computer Management as an Administrator. When I select the Mange option in a user account on my laptop I don't get the prompt to enter the admin password and Computer Management opens in user mode with restricted features.

Do I have a problem which can be fixed or is this a bug in v1809?

Neither, I suspect it is by design that standard users are restricted in this way. Exactly the same happens in 1803, so it's nothing new. In fact, by default 'This PC' doesn't even appear on the Desktop, you have to go and find where to turn it on before you can use it that way. It seems to be a left-over from Win7 practices.

That is not the current preferred way to manage this PC in W10. If you really want to run Computer Management as an administrator from a standard User, then you will find it in 'Start > Windows Administrative Tools' where you can right-click and run it as administrator. You can also pin it to Start to make it easier to find.

    Hello Steve,

I just checked on my system, and "Manage" doesn't even have a UAC icon on it for me while signed in to a standard user account.

That's curious. I checked two PCs user's accounts and both show the UAC shield on the Manage option but no admin password is requested and Manage opens in user mode with restrictions.

I just pulled up the latest public release in a VM, and it shows the UAC shield for "Manage".

It appears the UAC shield has been removed in at least the latest Skip Ahead build.
