Slow right -> New on File Explorer click on Windows 10

    Hello,

I noticed a really weird situation on my Windows 10,
When I press right click it works good and immediately, but then, when I go to "New" section, it takes FOREVER, like 5 seconds which is A LOT if you think about it and really count this time for a moment.

I tried various things to solve this solution:

    1. Restart computer of course.
    2. I tried many Registry editors to remove as much stuff as possible from Right click -> New, i came to a situation i can only do New Folder, and even then, it was the same, still takes a lot of time to show up.

Any suggestions how could this problem be solved?

    Thanks in advanced!

Create a new account. Is it slow there as well? If not then it's specific to your account. It it is then it's global to the OS.

Try running Kyhi's Image Health to cleanup system files, see if that helps. Just follow the directions. It runs DISM and SFC commands with proper parameters and in the right sequence for you. Nice tool.

Hello thanks for your respond, really appreciate!

Humm, I tried to open New Account, but it seems to be slow in there too ( When I Right clicked, and opened the "New Section" I could see that it has the same options that I have in my Main Account )

and I tried your link, I also did it before without any software, because someone else tried to help me:

    "
Perform the procedure to repair the system files:
Follow these instructions: press the Windows + X keys and select Command Prompt (Administrator) or Windows PowerShell (Administrator), in the window that will open, you must type the commands in their respective order:
    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
    • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    • DISM.exe /online /cleanup-image /startcomponentcleanup
    • sfc /scannow
    "

but it seems not to work.

Any further suggestions to solve that problem?

    Thanks in advance!

Some people experience this issue- some don't. I have 2 different laptops running 1809, one a clean install, the other upgraded over several Win 10 builds, but do not experience this.

Hopefully it will be fixed in the new build coming in the next few weeks. (I believe I read it had been fixed in an Insider build preceding that).

Note that you don't HAVE to use New folder from the context menu:

Slow right -> New on File Explorer click on Windows 10-untitled.png

    Note the hot key option.

Strange, I didn't get a notification with your answer. There is no solution that I know, at this point I don't think that Microsoft will back-port the fix to version 1809 (although you never know, maybe they will surprise us, just as they surprised us with the fix made in the Action center).
