Two 'Music' and 'Pictures' folders in Explorer

After installing Windows 10 a couple of years ago I followed this tutorial to relocate my 'Music' and 'Pictures' folders to my D: drive. Now, whenever Windows 10 updates, if I browse to %USERPROFILE% I see two 'Music' folders and two 'Pictures' folders in Explorer:



I can simply delete the two shortcuts to the C: drive folders but they return as soon as Windows updates.

Why am I seeing these extra folders? Is there any way to get rid of them for good?

I recently had an issue after Windows Update updated me to feature update 1809 from 1803. I originally had my Downloads folder relocated to my D: drive. After the Update to 1809 all of my files were still in my D:/Documents folder but the update had recreated the Default Documents folder under C:/Users/myname/Documents..it was Empty. When I checked the properties of the Documents Folder in This PC it had been reverted to default settings and was again pointing to C:/Users/myname/Documents. I just relocated the Documents folder in This PC back to D:/Documents again. I don't know if this is something that you have to do every time a new 6 monthly feature update version has been automatically installed by Windows Update or not

Thanks @Dalchina, though I don't think this problem is related to OneNote - the paths that these shortcuts point to do not mention OneDrive.

And thanks @sportsfan148. These phantom 'Music' and 'Pictures' folders re-appear after every Windows update. I'm about to wipe and re-install Windows on this particular PC as it's well overdue. I think I employed some kind of installation trick to force user profiles to be created on the D: drive - maybe that's the reason I'm seeing these problems.

Anyhow, thanks for your replies. I'll re-install Windows and see if the problem returns.
