Win10 desktop screen locks up, video driver issue?

Hi everyone:

I've been struggling with this issue for a while now, so I'm curious if anyone can give me some fresh input on it. I'm asking about my Dell desktop that has Windows 10 Pro installed. Sometimes for no apparent reason the screen locks up on some "ghost" image of whatever was happening at the time. (Last one, I was firing up Chrome browser.) Note that it doesn't cause a blue screen of death. It just locks up everything and the only way to restore it is to press and hold the power button.

Then when Windows boots up it acts as nothing happened.

So I went to dxdiag.exe and pulled up the system and graphics card info:

The driver looks old, but when I went to the AMD site that's the one they had available for my system.

So at this point I just assumed that it was a video driver, but now I'm not sure.

Is there a way to at least see what's causing those freezes? Any ideas?

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

I'm not sure if "Microsoft-Windows-DistributedCOM" could've caused it, or if those disk warnings is a consequence of this failure (or the cause.)

Oh wow, thank you. That's a really cool feature that I didn't even know existed. It would be definitely helpful for anyone who can't navigate through the thicket of the event viewer. (Less experienced relatives, etc.)

Although unfortunately it didn't give me much. It only has two errors about windows not being properly shut down

PS. From my previous report, I'm curious now is there a way to translate this from the kernel path into the DOS one?

Nah, it's not a physical device name. It's a kernel object name. Here's more info. Although, it must have been one of my external backup drives because when I run WinObj now, and check GLOBAL symbolic links they don't go past 8. Dang it, Microsoft! Why can't it show which device in DOS format in the event log.

But if so, if it's an external device, why would it be paging to it?

Oh, guys, right as I posted it I got another failure. This time it was able to recover without a reboot.

Luckily I was able to get a kernel dump. And here's what it gave me:

So this is AMD. The time stamp on the file is from 2015. Does this mean they don't care about fixing it? Any idea where shall I report this?

So which one am I supposed to download?
