    Desktop Gone, Some new UI taking up entire screen, need to revert back


    I dont know how this happened, but now my desktop is gone, and it changed to some weird view. I think its called Task View.

    Here is a screenshot.

    I just want my old desktop back. The normal desktop with normal icons. Help is greatly appreciated.

    Click that symbol third from the left next to the magnifying glass.

    forgot to mention that the icon you are mentioning does not make it go back to normal. You can click it 2 times and it changes each time, cycling through different windows
    heres a screenshot after i click the icon once

    click any blank space on the desktop itself.

    clicking on any empty space expands the current window, tried different areas, multiple clicks.

    Are you in Tablet Mode? Click the action center bottom right corner and check.

    You can click it 2 times and it changes each time

    The icon is a toggle. Just click it once for On or Off. You can clear this by going to Settings/ Privacy then un-tick Activity history options, toggle off all accounts and 'Clear activity history.

    Glad that was it. You'd be surprised how many accidentally get into Tablet Mode, and see weird things!
