    Screenshot folder sorting issue.

The screenshot folder in My Pictures where Windows+Print Screen captures are saved is not holding it's sort by date. Every time I reopen the folder it is sorted by oldest rather than newest first and I have to keep resorting it.

Sometimes, loss of saved views means that Windows has reached its maximum number of saved views. As a quick check, open a PowerShell window, then copy & paste the following command:
    Code:
    ((gp "HKCU:\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU").Nodeslots).count
If the result is 5000, you're maxed out.
    Code:
    Windows PowerShell
Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    PS C:\...\keith>((gp "HKCU:\SOFTWARE\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\BagMRU").Nodeslots).count
    521
    PS C:\...\keith>

OK, then I doubt the view is being deleted to make room for mew ones, Maybe something is interfering with saving view modifications. If you sort on a different column, is that remembered or does it revert to Date-Ascending?

For some reason it's working right at the moment. Maybe it's one of those miraculous reboot fixes everything? Will see how it goes...

Sadly it didn't last long. Just opened screenshots and it was oldest first. I should note though that while it is oldest first it is only for 2-3 seconds before Windows sorts it to newest first, I don't actually have to right click and sort. Kinda weird isn't it?

@KeithM What happens if I delete everything in BagMRU in the registry does this set all the views to default?

Interesting. I've noticed that lag in the 'Open' dialog when attaching screenshots, but not when viewing the folder in Explorer.

That's what it is Keith, a 2-3 sec lag when re-sorting.. But really, once they're sorted to newest first it shouldn't be needing to re-sort each time you reopen the folder should it?
