Single 'beep' sound in Windows 10

Has anyone ever experienced hearing a single beep sound in Windows 10? I've heard it twice in my laptop now, once while I was browsing, once while I was gaming. During the time I was gaming, the beep was followed by a game freeze and a crash. Nothing happened, however, when I was browsing and heard a single beep. What does a single beep sound (not consistent beeping) mean?

Thanks! For an ASUS laptop, how do I know which chart to check in the link you've given?

    ajay,

That ComputerHope link does not relate to your situation. It is only about hardware self-tests that take place as a computer starts.

Diagnosing intermittent problems such as yours can take ages.
    - I assume there is nothing that can be identified as having changed just before the problem started.
    - I assume that there is no consistency in which applications are running.
    - You could try keeping Event viewer open and then turning to it when the beep happens to see if it records anything useful.

I don't know about the crash, but I was also getting a single beep sound occasionally, but I traced the source to my Caps Lock being set to alert me when it was on or off!

    1. I think you're correct, and I wasn't changing or fiddling anything with the system settings or similar before both events.
    2. Correct, I was running a browser in one of the instance the event occurred and running a game when it happened again.
    3. Will try this, thanks!

Oh, I see. I checked my settings and I don't think I have that turned on. Thanks, anyway!
