I got a blank icon on some of my folders

So i just signed into my computer today, only to find out that most of my folders and files have a blank paper attached icon to them. Is there any way to get rid of it?

Solved by using winaero tweaker to disable the compressed overlay icon.

Does the icons look like this? (see attached) You may need to rebuild the Icon Cache?

The Read Only doesn't mean what it appears to mean. Been this way since XP, maybe WIndows 1000.

This is what it looks like on pretty much all my programs and folders. I haven't seen a blank paper being attached to my folders before, so i wonder what's up?

It didn't solve it. It just messed up my folder view layout.

    It didn't help either, sadly.

I suggest you go to some of the affected folders and try to copy in something innocuous such as a text file. You could even try right-clicking on the folders then selecting New, Text file. You should only need to invoke Admin permission in such folders as Program files not in your own Documents etc folders.

    Post the results.
