Possible to disable the large icon over pointer when dragging files?

I love Windows 10 but this may be the most annoying feature so far for me and I have no clue how to turn it off. I've searched online and all results concern windows 8/7/vista... and not only were there no real solutions but there is nothing about Windows 10. Never encountered this in Win7 (and never used Win8).

Possible to disable the large icon over pointer when dragging files?-largeiconoverpointer.jpg

the problem here is I can't see where I'm dropping the files, I use the list view and manage a lot of files this damn icon hides the folders! it's mad annoying and non-efficient, drives me crazy.
    anything I can do?

    thanks for any help

When you drag a file, the folder that you're dragging to highlights and the preview icon is transparent. IMO this is a non issue...

Actually this is the way it should look. The icon should be transparent as fracking4oil stated.

Thanks everyone, @AMGPilot any idea why my icons aren't transparent? is that a setting I can change somewhere? I agree it would be a non-issue but in my case the icons remain opaque and I can't see anything I do.

I am not quite sure why they are not transparent.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is the default program you have to play .mp3 files, I do not recognize that green icon.

Change the default program for playing .mp3 files and see if that makes a difference. If not, then I have no idea what is causing it

Alright, thanks anyway for the input. All my media files are associated with Potplayer, a korean media player I think, that I found to replace VLC. so that is the green icon, but its irrelevant, its just an example, the icon is always the type of file so it doesnt matter which file I drag, its just a different icons.

my instincts tell me it should be in the visual effects (advanced system settings /performance)... but there is nothing in there that I do that makes any difference.

    oh well

My computer shows the same thing. I don't know how to fix it but if you move the icon farther to the right you can see what folder is highlighted.

I tried turning off Show window contents while dragging and it had no effect. I wonder if it could be a problem with the graphic card driver.
