    Preparing automatic repair

Recently am facing with an issue, each time when i switch on my system i get an error stating Preparing Automatic repair, any suggetion how to solve it. Is it due to hardware issue or is it with any upgrading of windows 10. I have noticed that this error usually occur whenever automatic updates happen.

My stepfather called me yesterday to take a look at a computer in our shop which was acting very slow and his complaint was that i takes ages to boot. He has the same issue, every time he restarts, the computer goes into automatic repair mode, fixes itself, but it happens every time. His computer was on build 1803 so I tried upgrading it manually to the latest Build 1809 Redstone 5 and that fixed the issue

No it doesnt boot into the system, it either get stuck on the intial screen which displays that boot device or it gets stuck on next screen which has a window and below which it is written preparing automatic repair.

I found when automatic repair failed and went into a loop if I went into the Command prompt and ran chkdsk /f and sfc scannow I could then reboot normally.

I had the exact situation, mines starting going into repair mode as it booted, turns out it was the 1809 upgrade failing. I manually upgraded the system and haven't had a problem sense.
