    One thing I can not get used to . . . . .

There is no DELETE key :-(

Is there a setting somewhere to fix this bug ?

    Thanks

    Are you running W10 1809?

I don't have a surface, but is your on screen keyboard provided by the Surface PC software or Windows 10? Because the Windows 10 on screen keyboard has a delete key!

Go to "Settings/Ease of Access", and the "Interaction" section and on the left hand menu, click on the "Keyboard" icon ... The top item is the one you want, switch the button to "On" and use the shortcut mentioned to switch the keyboard on or off!

PS: On an Android on screen keyboard the "Del" key is sometimes on the "Numbers" screen section!

It's not a bug, it's a simplified keyboard layout, offered by default. Other keyboard layouts are available, including one with the full complement of keys. Click the 'keyboard/gearwheel' icon top left to select one. The fourth one in is the full keyboard. Your selected keyboard layout will then be used each time you bring up the the touch keyboard.
