Using a Greek Keyboard - cannot put in the 'tonos' over a letter!

    Hello

On my laptop I have an extra language - Greek - and I can toggle between ENG and EL on the taskbar. So far so good. On my laptop to get the 'tonos' over the correct letter I have to click ; on the keyboard before typing the letter and the word is then correct. However...……………..

On my Windows10 tablet I have the same setup in the taskbar but the keyboard is of course 'virtual' and I can only seem to type in Greek without a 'tonos' which means the Greek is incorrect all the time! I have tried clicking on the ; in this keyboard but of course ; in Greek writing is a question mark!

Am I missing something - please help.

    Thank you

I'm not familiar with Greek layout, but apparently there are several possibilities... Latin, Greek, Greek 220, Greek 319. Have to select the right layout, or find ; in your layout.

You have all layouts listed and shown here:

On my laptop I have Ellinika which seems to be different as it automatically puts in the tonos and if I misspell the Greek writing it underlines it to advise me.
I will try and download the same to my tablet and see what happens/
If anyone else who is Greek can assist me please do.

    Hi there
    @moggie

I don't know Greek (although did a bit of Classical Greek a long long time ago at school) but the problem could be you haven't set up your Input modes properly (under Languages in the settings). Languages-->advanced

I have ISL and UK keyboards and can switch between languages and keyboards and any combo of those without a problem.

I suspect it's your setup rather than the hardware.

    Hi there @f14tomcat
I suspect it isn't the keyboard etc but he hasn't set up the Input methods properly -- I've added screenshot to my previous post of where to set those up.

If you don't change the input method whatever keyboard you have will just present the default entries for your primary keyboard.

    Cheers

Perhaps, yes. I was answering his inquiry about any other Greek member.

Look at the character map under windows accessories, see if a alt+number will work in the virtual keyboard.
