When you run chkdsk please run chkdsk /r /v

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /r /v
The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

    Type: Y
    reboot

Use the text and images in this link to find the chkdsk report in the event viewer > copy and paste > notepad > post a share link into the thread

It would be a good idea to do a disk check just in case- HD Tune Health and Error Scan tabs; Hard Disk Sentinel (trial) gives the best report I know.

Macrium requires the disk and file system to be intact, so creating images is a useful health check.

My first attempt at the Macrium backup finished but indicated disc issues. I subsequently ran cdschk /r and it ran successfully. I made a "good" Macrium backup after that, and I have successfully executed the restore function. After using Microsoft's System Image for over 20 years, I have to say Macrium is a pleasure!

    Thanks Again ...
