Unable to save anything to Document folder and sub folder

I just reinstalled Windows 10 Pro using the method outlined here. Basically I used an ISO which I made via a download from MS. Now I am unable to save any kind of file to my Document folder or sub-folder. I get access denied. Looks like MS lied again. This method was to save all my apps and settings. I don't want to try a bunch of things that I am not sure of and mess this fresh Windows 10 install.

It appears all of my folders are now marked Read Only, but yet the box is checked for Full Control.

Hi, what you did was a repair install.

This will not correct things related to a particular user profile.

To correct permissions, you might try Tweaking.com's free cautious repair tool, carefully observing the various preparatory steps and only using the relevant repair(s). (Easy to find).

It would not seem appropriate to blame MS here. This repair method is quite commonly used. As I said, it has its limitations and cannot fix everything.

OK, then what is the one where it removed your added apps, but keeps your data files? That one is a real pain as I have a lot of software added.
The reason I did the repair was to hopefully correct a problem I was having with adobe PDF printer, which it appears did correct that. Correct one thing and get another. I will give your suggestion a try. I thought an update may have changed something that Adobe did not like.

From what learned on here so far I am inclined to think I got malware or a Trojan. So before I do anything else I will run some malware and a complete virus scan.
That repair program looks awesome. I installed and ran it and it came up with 44 things that need attention.

I tried using the Tweaking Repair Tool. I ran it in safe mode as administrator and it appeared to be resetting permissions in registry, file and service. When complete I closed it as suggested and restarted my PC. Still could not save my KeePass2 file to documents. Access denied was the error. Started Tweaking Repair Tool again and all those repairs that it said were done were checked for repair again. What am I not doing properly?

I figured out what I was doing wrong. The tool corrected all errors. Still had my initial problem and pretty much figured it is being caused by Windows Defender. When I disable Defender, my problems go away.

Progress- could be you were having problems with Controlled Folder Access (see the tutorial section for more on that). If you've disabled Defender, recommend you use a 3rd party AV.

You are correct! I got on a Microsoft Community page and posted. Apparently it was a self-inflicted problem. I must have checked the box for Controlled Folder Access recently and that is what was causing all of the problems. Nice thing about the tenforums tool is now all the permissions are set as they should be. I have learned how to setup the Controlled Folder Access. So all along it was Defender and something I checked off. And to think of all the grief I put myself through!
Thanks to all on this forum for suggestions and help! Much appreicated.
